The University of Kiel in Germany or also called the Christian Albrecht University of Kiel is a German university based in Kiel. It was founded in 1665 by Duke Christian Albrecht, Duke of Holstein-Gotorp under the Latin name "Academia Holsatrom-Kelowensis". With a student population of about 23,000 today, it is the largest, oldest and most prestigious university in Schleswig-Holstein.
