This trail starts at the end of the Main Trail; from Basin restaurant. This route leads you up to ancient steps and after a short walk, you end up reaching the Lion Triclinium, which is set in a small wadi on the left. On your way up the carved stairway, you reach a hermitage with chambers excavated in the rock and decorated with many carved crosses. Moving upwards, you now reached Ad-Dayr, which lies a short way beyond, introducing you to a spectacular panoramic view. This trail continues on to the end of the Main Trail. When reaching Qasr Al Bint, you can stop at one of the two restaurants located near the temple for a break or continue your journey to get to Ad-Dayr. The following part of the trail is tougher as it involves climbing hundreds of steps. A good fitness level is required to walk to the top. Alternatively, you can hire a hide at this point to take you there.
