Kharrubat Al Fajja

Kharrubat Al Fajja

Also known as Sadd Al Kharruba, this is a remarkable example of a small Nabataean dam. It is located across a gorge in a high sandstone outcrop.   The three courses of this medium sized masonry dam wall are missing (as indicated by their anchorage cuts in the rock).      The dam is named after a large carob tree (kharruba) that is growing inside it.
