The Palace tomb
The Palace tomb
This tomb is a grandiose five-story façade. On the first lower level, five doorways are framed by engaged columns and topped with semi-circular triangular gables. On the second level, there are 18 columns that support the third story, which was particularly built with ashlar blocks. The fourth and fifth stories are adorned with short pilasters and are partially damaged by erosion. A dam and a water reservoir are located behind the monument to drain rainwater into a pool to the north of the monument podium. Dating back to the early 2ndcentury AD, the Palace Monument was probably used for banqueting or funerary ceremonies.
